How these figures are calculated
All figures come from the European Central Bank's euro foreign exchange reference rates, the rates the ECB sets around 14:10 Central European Time on each TARGET working day, for the US dollar, pound sterling, Japanese yen and Chinese yuan renminbi, from January 2015. Rates are quoted as units of each currency per one euro. The ECB publishes them for information only; they are not rates at which you can trade.
Yearly figures are the simple average of all daily fixings in each calendar year. Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly changes compare the latest fixing with the last fixing on or before the earlier date. Averages, records and comparisons are calculated by DatelineHQ. This page is refreshed each working day from the latest ECB release.
